I am a little, white dog, acclaimed 'Doggy Blogger Extraordinaire' and soon-to-be international correspondent. I currently live with my human mom in the Pacific Northwest.

Hi all, I am Maggie Mae! My mom calls herself Reel Wanderer. I am not sure exactly what that means. I just call her mom and sometimes 'lady'.

Just to tell you a bit about myself. I am a little white dog of unknown origin.  People keep telling me that I am a Bichon Frise. It sounds like bacon and fries. Makes me hungry! I love bacon and fries! Bacon, bacon, BACONNNN!

Oh, sorry. Lost my focus for a moment. Bacon can do that to me.  Anyway, I have no idea why they call me bacon and fries. That's just so odd, don't ya think?

Then there are others who call me Havanese. Why do they keep asking me if I have knees? Of course, I have knees. I have four legs. I have four knees. Count them. One, two, three, four. Geesh.

My mom wonders why I act so strange sometimes. Humans. They can be so confusing.

And why is it that everyone needs to figure out what I am? What’s with humans anyway? Can’t I just be a little, white, furry dog? That’s what my mom calls me. She’ll say..."hey, little, white dog"...so I think she understands that I am not big on labels. But enough about me.

My mom has been spending a lot of time with a metal book like thing that she puts on her lap and her fingers tap and tap and tap on it. I think what she is doing must be really important, because she does it a lot. She explained that she is writing a blog where she writes thoughts and ideas about her travels, upcoming retirement and other stuff, things that she is thinking about.

Hmmm. I think about stuff. I am always thinking about something, the squirrels, dinner, treats, naps, squirrels, dinner, treats, naps, squirrels, dinner, treats, and naps.

I have deep thoughts. I am a very deep thinker! I could write deep thoughts about the state of nation or current global affairs! My mom leaves the television on when she is away from the house, so I am very well informed. I should write a blog! Yes! That's it! I will become an international correspondent.

So, after a bit of negotiating, my human mom agreed to let me have my own page on her blog where I can put down my very important and highly insightful thoughts and ideas.

Yay! Who-hoooo! YIPPEE! I am going to be a blogger!!! Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

*jumping up and down, circling round and round*

But...

Why is there always a 'but'?

"But you have to write about travel, retirement and becoming an expat dog," she said.

OK. Let's see. I take rides in the car. That is travel. Check! I am already retired, so that part should be easy. Check! And I have no idea what an expat is, but I am sure I will find out at some point, so premature...Check!

"OK, ok, ok, I agreed to not to write about chasing squirrels or the state of the nation."

Geesh, all these rules. As if sitting and shaking for a treat isn't enough!

Well, that's it for now. I hope you will come back soon. I am going to write about what is happening in the house with my mom and what we are doing in preparation for retirement, a future move and expat life...and maybe I'll sneak in a story about a squirrel or two. (Hee, hee. I am such a rebel.) This is going to be fun!

But for now, I need to take a long nap. Writing a blog can be just sooo exhausting.

Signing off,
Maggie Mae, Blogger Extraordinaire and soon-to-be International Correspondent

Hi! I am Maggie Mae, a little white dog. I haven't written a blog before, but with the changes coming in my life I thought I would put my thoughts down in words and maybe you can write comments below to help guide me along the way.
