By Maggie Mae

I am a little white dog, acclaimed 'Doggy Blogger Extraordinaire' and soon-to-be international correspondent. I currently live with with my human mom in the Pacific Northwest.

Hi! It’s me, Maggie Mae, again.

Today my mom leaned over, patted me on the head and said, “Little, white dog, wherever I go, you will come with me.” I liked hearing that. I like being with her.

And as soon she said that, she gave me a treat, walked outside and closed the door.

“Hey! I thought you just said you would take me with wherever you go!”

I sat by the door for the longest time. She said she would take me with. None of this is making any sense. Growing tired of waiting at the door I headed for the round, cushy bed that she says belongs to me and took a nap.

Sometimes, when I am confused like this, naps are best. I take a lot of naps. I wonder if that means I am really confused.

Anyway, it keeps me from overthinking things. I do that a lot, especially when I am home alone. I overthink and overthink. Thoughts circle in my head, like when I circle to show her I am happy she is home, except the circles are in my head. Did I say that my thoughts circle and circle, the ones in my head? Circle, circle, ... circle.

Whoa...dizzzzzzy.
I help stop the circling thoughts by racing like a maniac through the house. It happens out of the blue. ZOOM! to the left! ZOOOOOM! to right! Like a flash! Back and forth I go. It helps me release my circling thoughts.

Sometimes I fly. Sometimes I fly when my head is circling and sometimes I fly because my mom comes home and I really missed her. And sometimes I just want to FLY!

From sofa to chair and back! LOOK! I can FLY! Whooo-hoooo! I am Wonder Dog, Super Hero of the Canine Universe! Watch me fly!!!

"Maggie! Settle down!"

To the left I go, with an in-air twist, I bounce off the floor and land across the room on the purple sofa. My athletic prowess on display. I am AMAZING Wonder Dog! Watch me FLY!!!

"MAGGIE!"

"STOP!"

Oh, oh. I know that tone. Mom's not happy. I should stop.

Oh, what the hey! One more time! ZOOM! with a flip. Perfect landing. I give myself a score of 10 on that one. I CAN FLY!

"MAGGIE! ENOUGH! Sit."

*I sit and look put upon, sometimes the put upon look works, sometimes it doesn't*

But today was a bit different. I was attempting meditation to quiet my never-ending thought circles when I heard, from the other room, a key turn the lock in the front door, a jingle of the keys and foot steps entering the house.

"Maggieeeee. I'm hoooome..." always said softly in a sing song melody.

She's home, she's home!!! Mom's home!

I leap off her bed, (I really like the cushiness of her pillow, so I sleep there sometimes when she is out of the house) and race with great fervor to the front door. I must perform my duty! It seemed like she had been gone for hours!

I run in circles with agility unmatched and jump floor to ceiling to let her know just how happy I am to see her. I think she likes that. It’s a lot of work for me, but she deserves to be happy.

The result of my joy-filled performance, minus the furniture flying, always ends in plenty of hugs. I run and collect my favorite toy for some inside toss the toy time, before she sits down to give me some belly scratches. She is really good at her job of being my mom, and I am the best doggy greeter in all of the universe, if I do say so myself.

As she sends me to heaven and back with the belly scratches, she turns to me and says, “When I retire, you are coming with. I won’t go anywhere without you.”

I don’t know where we are going or what retire is, but I sure am glad that I will be going with her and this time she didn't walk out the door after she said it. I think that is a very good sign.

Feeling reassured, I turn over, climb on her lap and give her a big ole doggy kiss on the cheek.

I think everything is going to turn out fine ... as long as my mom takes me with her.

In my next blog post, I am going to tell you about where we are going. Finally, I found out exactly what she meant when she said, "Wherever I go, you will go with me." So exciting!

Until the next time,
Maggie Mae, Doggy Blogger Extraordinaire and soon-to-be International Correspondent, signing off.

Note: As always, this post was approved and edited by my mom. She is kind of a control freak that way.

Can you guess where in Mexico we are going? Please leave your comments below.

Hi! I am Maggie Mae, a little white dog. I haven't written a blog before, but with the changes coming in my life I thought I would put my thoughts down in words and maybe you can write comments below to help guide me along the way.
