By Maggie Mae

I am a little, white dog, acclaimed 'Doggy Blogger Extraordinaire' and soon-to-be international correspondent. I currently live with my human mom in the Pacific Northwest.

"Hi, it’s Maggie Mae, the little white dog.  I just want to give you a quick update on my life.

Rides, walks, barking, and running in and out of the doggy door make up most of my days, when I am not napping.  And I do a lot of napping.  It’s a really good life.

And then there are the treats. Out of the blue, my mom comes into the room and asks if I want a treat? Really, lady, you need to ask?

She always makes me do my special ninja moves before I get a treat. It’s not a big deal. I like showing off my moves.

“Sit, circle, sit, circle. Up, down, circle, sit, shake.”

Some days she gets a bit carried away and I get a bit dizzy, overly excited, and end up circling when she says shake and sitting when I am supposed to be standing on my back legs.

I try. Really, I do. But come on! 20 commands for one little treat is a bit excessive, don’t you think?

So, anyway, here's the update.

Remember the lady said ‘she would take me with wherever she goes? That has been a mystery for some time, but now that I understand, I can share with you. I don't want you to continue to be confused too.

So, my mom keeps telling me that wherever she goes, I will go with. That makes me very happy. I never understood why she kept saying that. And then there was something about retirement which I didn't understand either.

I have always considered myself to be pretty smart. If fact, my mom confirms it when I sit or circle or shake when she tells me to. She says, "Oh, Maggie, you are so smart!" But I am not so sure about that. I think she may have just been trying to reinforce my good behaviors with compliments, because now she talks about stuff that I just don't understand.

The other day my mom told me that I would go with her to Mexico when she moved.

"Yay! I get to go to Mexico!!!"

*jumping up and down with great enthusiasm*

"I get to with my mom to Mexico! Mexico! Yay! Mexico!"

Ahhhh...where's Mexico?

She took me in the other room where my cushy round bed is. She stood and pointed at something hanging on the wall with lines and colors on it, a large hard paper thing, and said, “Mexico. This is Mexico.”

So, finally, the mystery is solved!

Mexico is a large, hard paper thing in the back room. We are going to a hard, paper thing and she is taking me with her. Really? This is what all my fretting has been about? Going to the back room to Mexico?

Well, at least now I know where Mexico is. I guess this answers any questions that I may have had. Now that my concerns have been allayed I think I will go take a nap.

Mystery solved! Who ever said that I'm not smart?

See you again soon!

Until then, this is Maggie Mae, Smartest Dog on the Planet and soon-to-be International Correspondent signing off.

By the way, in the next post, Ally, the little brown dog, comes for a visit and everything I believe to be Mexico flies out the window!!!

Note: My mom edits and approves all these blog posts and allows posts be published that make me look...well, not so bright it seems. Geesh, Mom. Thanks a lot.

Any help you can give Maggie in understanding exactly what Mexico is and where she is going?
